چکیده

BACKGROUND We evaluated microRNAs and extracellular matrix component profiles in squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity (OSCC) comparison to healthy mucosa. METHODS Retrospective study investigating 64 related oncogenic process constituents matrix. also performed immunohistochemical assays for molecules involved same biological processes. RESULTS High expression miR-21-5p (p?<?0.001) miR-106-5p low miR-320a (p = 0.001) miR-222-3p were predictors malignancy. Individually, exhibited best statistical performance (area under curve 0.972; 95% confidence interval: 0.911-1.000) differentiation between tumor tissue Moreover, sample showed increased MMP-2, MMP-9, ?-laminin, ?-laminin tumor-related fibroblasts lower continuity type IV collagen basement membrane. CONCLUSION The present demonstrates effects on carcinogenesis OSCC as well intense modification microenvironment.

Immunohistochemical Evaluation of Fascin in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Background and purpose: Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the eighth most common cancer in men and the fifteenth in women. Localized recurrence and metastasis to regional lymph nodes are major problems in these patients. Fascin is a 55- kDa protein from the family of actin-binding proteins that is expressed in cells with membranous bronchial tubes. The aim of this study was to evaluate the expre...
